In case you host multiple sites in the same account and one of them gets hacked, it's more than likely that all of them will get hacked after that. There're various reasons why this may happen, the two most common are: using very weak passwords or using older scripts with known weaknesses. This way, one single compromised Internet site will do lots of damage to all of your sites, as getting access to a single script usually allows hackers to access the web hosting account. This is the reason why we've introduced an outstanding security option called JailHost. Once activated, this feature will literally lock a site within its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, all the other websites in the account will be hidden. Thus they'll be protected from further intrusion. The JailHost option does not mean that you should not keep your websites up-to-date, but it'll significantly minimize the damage.

JailHost in Hosting

In case you host your sites within a hosting account from our firm, you can protect them using the JailHost feature with just a few mouse clicks in your Hepsia Control Panel. The option is provided with all packages and can be enabled for each folder since the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have separate folders, so that files for various sites never get mixed up as it frequently happens with other Control Panels. We haven't activated JailHost by default as you may use scripts that require access to folders outside the main website folder and this option may interfere with their correct operation, but securing all the other folders is simple and easy. In case a secured website gets hacked for some reason, we will be able to restore it promptly as we will have multiple daily backup copies of your entire account and you will even be able to search the available backups from Hepsia.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting

JailHost comes with all our semi-dedicated hosting plans and you'll be able to activate it with several clicks. It is not turned on by default since we don't want to prevent some scripts that may need to gain access to multiple folders in your account from functioning properly. You can activate JailHost for all other websites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and you can do this quickly even if you lack previous experience. What allows us to offer JailHost is the way Hepsia takes care of multiple domains - they all have individual folders which can be "locked". In comparison, other well known Control Panels have add-on domains and their content is kept in the primary domain folder, so in case a single site is hacked, the whole account is hacked, which is not the case with Hepsia. If an Internet site gets damaged regardless of your efforts, we shall be able to restore it the way it was very quickly because we'll store a few daily backup copies of your account.
